I'm very excited to begin a fashion guide that will focus on basic staples that are essential to a woman's wardrobe. Since I am shedding over worn and outdated clothing items from my teenage years and slowly accumulating timeless pieces to my new wardrobe fit for universally any woman, I can use my progress as a structure to this guide.
As a warning, I do not base my decisions whether to purchase an item on affordability and fleeting trends. The best items in my wardrobe tend to be those that provide me with the most utility, quality and a good amount of compliments and admirers(priceless), thus they tend to seem more expensive at the cash register. But these items redeem the up front cost by frequent use and even help you in many ways you could not have imagined.
Three items I cannot live without and are a constant source of admiration are my Guess over-the-knee boots, Coach purse and new Prada frames (if these aren't yet, I'll make them be). When I am wearing these items I feel like I am about to be voted President or at least be paid commission to market it. I love them because of their versatility, simplicity and sex appeal. So don't shy away from a purchase when it's going to give you a lifetime of happiness!
The Classic Trench Coat
I have been searching for the perfect trench coat for years. I would always find the ones that were either too loose, too long, too expensive or weirdly designed and the color was just wrong. I began to only go to Zara in my searches, since I knew they carried a trench coat or variation year round and they came in European sizes that fit me.
Luckily I recently found one in Zara's flagship San Francisco store. It was reasonably priced for just below $100 and essentially met all of my requirements. It is the internationally recognized quintessential spring coat, perfect for random showers and lightweight enough for the sunny days.
