Decor de Maison

Before I started to pole dance and became fascinated with exotic wear and lingerie, even before fashion in general, I had always wanted to become an interior designer. This characteristic of myself I get from my mom. We would watch HGTV together and criticize every single designer on the show, while our house looked like a pigsty. And worse, it still does! Despite my parents tendency to hoard Costco products like pack rats, I have learned to let go of useless items I have made myself believe are sentimental and therefore essential to keep. While I am not a minimalist, I have always wanted to have my own house to decorate in a romantic yet disorderly style.

I am dedicating this page specifically to home decor items and styles I find as well as new improvements to my room. At this moment, I have a lot of plans for my room that include removing my large desk, installing a stationary/spinning pole, creating an inspiration board, and hanging up all of my framed lingerie images.

Wall Art

One of my decorating and organization habits include displaying my collections in the most aesthetic and effective way possible. I always want to be surrounded by inspiring images, especially editorial fashion photo shoots. I was so taken by Annie Leibovitz's Alice-in-Wonderland inspired photo shoot for Vogue's 2003 December issue that I printed the images and framed them on my wall.

Home Decor
I've never really had a piggy bank, favored the childhood story book Charlotte's Web, or think piggies are cute in general, but I do adore Harry Allen's creation. You can find Harry Allen's metallic piggy variations in posh boutiques. The first time I laid my eyes on one was in a movie, and the second across the street from a boutique on Hayes in San Francisco.

Harry Allen's piggy can vary in price from $100-$200.

Cowhide
Cowhide was not something I had to warm up to, but something I immediately fell in love with. The first time I came across cowhide was by glancing through the window of LB Steak on Santana Row. They had a row of dining chairs in cowhide and I could barely concentrate on walking forward. Due to the old Western imagery that cowhide conjures up, it is uniquely rugged yet simultaneously sophisticated. Cowhide furniture and rugs can create old world, down-to-earth comfort in any room. It's not for everyone, but I absolutely love it!

Shoe Closet

Shoe closets are no joke. Displaying shoes is exactly like displaying tools in a garage, it's practical and it looks pretty. At the moment, I have a pretty sad collection in comparison to Jenna Lyons', J. Crew stylist, shoe collection. As of right now, my collection is limited to work, play, pole and boots. I'm extremely lacking in sneakers and flats that are more realistic for the type of work/school lifestyle I currently live.
